Joel Fortney, our Chief Investment Officer and Investment Adviser Representative, is a Chartered Financial Analyst® and Certified Private Wealth Advisor® with 25+ years of experience spanning institutional asset management, entrepreneurial private company leadership, and direct investment execution. He has extensive experience managing complex portfolios, leading businesses through growth, and applying analytical rigor to wealth strategy, investment research, and operations management.

Biography

Joel serves as Owner, CEO, CIO, and CFO across a portfolio of private companies. Prior to co-founding Koios, he served as CEO of Stategy Capital, Portfolio Manager of U.S. Equities at Principal Global Investors managing over $6 billion in institutional assets, and Equity Research Analyst at Principal Global Investors specializing in Financial Services and REITs. Joel's career expertise spans both quantitative and qualitative investment disciplines, working throughout his career to leverage the benefits of systematic investing techniques, technological innovation and empirical research. He dedicated a portion of his career to the study of behavioral finance, implementing processes designed to improve decision-making discipline for better outcomes.
